Story

It all started...

Katie and Alex met in the 6th grade and have been friends ever since. In high school, they went on several backpacking trips together and, to this day, continue to “slackpack” with the same group of friends. And they did go to prom together, though not with each other. There were many moments of flirtation throughout their 20s, but it wasn’t until their early 30s that it felt right to give things a go. And here we are.

To date, Katie and Alex have shared three homes, three cats, two cars, one perfect Windhound, and an absurd number of house plants. They’ve gone scuba diving with sharks in Tahiti, traversed the volcanic wilds of Iceland in a Suzuki Jimny, sent armfuls of phosphorescent sand into the moonlight of Mexico, embraced calvados tasting after food poisoning in Normandy, and eaten a glorious amount of BBQ in Texas. They look forward to all the adventures to come, both as a couple and with family and friends. Thanks for being a part of it all.

Your questions (hopefully) answered

What to wear and what bring?

Friday - Wear comfortable clothes that are appropriate for helping out.
Saturday - Wear colorful dressy clothes that make you feel fabulous and are hot weather-appropriate. Bring personal shade, layers, and comfortable shoes. Wild Iris has a variety of lawn, gravel, dirt, and concrete surfaces to traverse.
Sunday - Bring your bathing suit, towels, and loungewear.

What’s the weather expected to be?

Anderson Valley in July will likely range from 90° during the day to the mid 50s at night.

What about kids?

We love your babies, but for many reasons, we’ve decided to have a kid-free wedding. We are making a few exceptions for family, and those with infants. Thank you for understanding.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Reach out to us, but most likely we will have already asked you about a guest.

Do you have a registry?

Nope! Your presence is gift enough, but we are accepting donations for wedding costs.

Can I help?

There are many ways to contribute. RSVP for the Friday prep party to help set up, donate to help with costs, or reach out if you have a specific talent or ideas :)

When is the ceremony?

The ceremony will start promptly at 5pm and will be short and sweet!

Sunday pool party and BBQ?

This day is dedicated entirely to relaxation. The pool party will start around 11am and go all day. Please bring whatever you’d like to throw on the grill. Coolers, ice, and drinks? Yes, please.

Wedding party? Bridesmaids? Groomsmen?
We are not having bridesmaids or groomsmen. You're all bridesmaids and groomsmen to us!

What about COVID?
Our wedding will be completely outdoors with plenty of room to social distance if you choose to, but we respect that such a gathering might still pose too great a risk for some people's comfort.
